January 2003 - Side Match

Contributor: Mike Boyd
The Egg-Shoot side match began after a slight delay from the extended USPSA pistol match with 15 shooters entered. The objective was to shoot 5 eggs from 100-yards with a maximum of 10 rounds fired. After the initial blast (with a few range failures noted and quickly repaired by the lovely Miss DeeDee and her escort, Nick Boyd), 6 shooters remained in the running and advanced to the next round.

Round 5 was shot against a single scored paper target and ended the day's splatter with Steve scoring a 10(1X), and Bud tagging a 9. The final winners were Steve Newman taking the Open class and Chris Howard taking the Limited class.
Thanks to all that participated in the match. Many lessons were learned about wind, sun, age, and how to keep eggs on a rope (I finally figured it out). A special thanks to Nick and DeeDee for their help in setting up and maintaining the target area.
